Dear Friends,
How can we say thank you for your gifts, your prayers, your words of encouragement? I wish I could share with you all the testimonies of people who have been touched by this program. We hear from people whose faith has been strengthened as we share how God’s Word has the answer for their questions about their faith. In fact, for over 43 years, the Ankerberg Theological Research Institute (ATRI) has offered real answers to real questions and presented and defended the Christian faith not only to Christians, but also to those of other faiths.
We have featured guests such as Lee Strobel, author of “The Case for Christ,” Dr. Gary Habermas, the world’s foremost expert on the evidence for the historic resurrection of Jesus, Dr. Erwin Lutzer, pastor emeritus of Moody Church in Chicago, scientist Dr. Stephen Meyer, astronomer and astrophysicist Dr. Hugh Ross, and many, many more to help strengthen you in your faith and embolden you to witness for Him.
Remember, Peter tells us we should “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15). That’s what our guests do—they give you the ammunition you need to boldly declare and defend your faith!
Now, this month as we conclude our report with Morgan Jackson, we will bring you new stories from places where we have seen God at work through His Word. In countries like Nigeria and Cuba, where people live in desperate conditions, God’s Word in an oral form is reaching out and touching lives, changing them for eternity!
In Uganda, the Bidi Bidi camp has been expanding as conflict continues in Sudan and other countries in that area. That means the need, and the demand, for Audio Bibles is even greater! God’s Word is bringing light into their very dark world.
For more than a dozen years now we have been asking you to help provide the Proclaimers (Audio Bibles), and you have responded. To date, thanks to your gifts, more than 21 million people are gathering to hear God speak to them. About half of those who hear for the first time come to know and accept Christ as their Savior.
If you have funded even one of those Proclaimers, you have been part of carrying out the Great Commission. You may not personally have been able to “Go into all the world,” but the Proclaimers you sponsor have. And those people continue to listen on a regular basis, meaning they are learning “to obey everything I have commanded you.” The Proclaimers you have funded are making disciples in many, many nations of the world!
Right now we have a special opportunity. Two very generous donors have both agreed to match your gift for Proclaimers. That means if you give $500 for one, they will each add one, and your gift will result in three Proclaimers going out to people still waiting to hear.
Each Proclaimer reaches approximately 90 people, of whom about half, or 45 people, will come to faith in Christ. That’s a great heavenly return on your investment. And the matching offer is good regardless of how many Proclaimers you sponsor: If you give one, three will be sent; if you give two, six will be sent; if you give four, 12 will be sent. No limit has been set.
This same double match applies to any micro-SD cards and micro-Proclaimers you sponsor (for a gift of $100). These smaller devices have been especially popular in the refugee camps, such as the Bidi Bibi camps in Uganda, as well as people in other areas where aid is being sent. In many countries in the 10/40 Window, these devices are preferable because they are easily concealed and can be listened to privately.
So, would you pray earnestly, before considering the most generous gift you are able to allow God’s Word to be heard by more people?
We also want to encourage you to continue to give for Audio Bibles even after this report is over, because the need is still great. Right now we have requests for thousands and thousands of Audio Bibles to reach the approximately 1.5 billion people who are still waiting to hear.
To help meet that need, one of our generous donors has agreed to extend his offer to match any Proclaimer you sponsor even after our report is over.
